How to use our games in class
Whole-class warm-up
Put a game on the interactive whiteboard at the start of a lesson. Invite children to take turns tapping answers while the class says the letter, sound or number out loud.
Learning centers
Set up one or two computers or tablets as a games center. Choose one game that matches the week’s letter or skill, so center time supports what you are teaching.
Small-group practice
Use a game with a small group that needs extra practice on a skill, such as matching uppercase and lowercase letters. Repetition in a game feels like play, not drill.
Letter of the week
Pair your letter of the week with an alphabet game, then extend it offline with a classroom letter hunt, a show-and-tell object or a drawing activity.
Early finishers and brain breaks
Keep a bookmarked game ready for children who finish early, or use a quick puzzle or memory game as a calm brain break between activities.
Home connection
Share a link to the game you used in class with families, so children can keep practicing at home. Our Parent’s Guide gives families simple tips for learning at home.

Tech tips for the classroom
- Sound: many games use spoken letters and sounds. Use speakers for whole-class play and headphones at centers.
- Browsers: games work best in an up-to-date Chrome, Safari or Edge browser.
- Full screen: use the full-screen button on the game page for whiteboards and projectors.
- School filters: if a game is blocked, ask your IT team to allow alphabetgames.org and the game provider shown on the game page.
- Bookmarks: save the games you use most on the class devices so children can find them quickly.
